A Licensed Paralegal

Practitioner Law Practice

Legal disputes can be complicated and messy.

At Vanderhooft Legal, my goal is to work closely with you to ensure you receive excellent legal services at an affordable price.

About Peter Vanderhooft

I am a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner in the State of Utah (Bar # 61009) and a Registered Notary Public with the State of Utah.

Since 2017, I have been providing exceptional service for my clients. In 2018, I became a Certified Paralegal with the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). I am a member in good standing of the Utah Paralegal Association (UPA) and the Paralegal Division of the Utah State Bar.

Before fulfilling my dream of becoming a Paralegal, I worked as a Librarian with Salt Lake County and the University of Utah.  I have a decade's worth of experience in reference and customer service.  I became a Certified Records Analyst in 2018 and have extensive knowledge regarding records organization and management and legal research.

I am committed to providing excellent legal services for every client. I am passionate about access to justice, information literacy, and community service. I believe that every person deserves timely and affordable access to justice – both procedural and substantive. To that end, I strive to provide cost-effective services that help clients understand and make informed decisions regarding the legal issues they face. I work hard to ensure that my clients feel heard and believe they received fair treatment.

Although I work with clients of all types, I have dedicated my practice to helping underserved and marginalized populations, including the LGBTQ+ community and low-income individuals.

As a family law, debt collection, landlord tenant and divorce Licensed Paralegal Practitioner, I am committed to providing the assistance you need and deserve. If I can’t help, I will assist you in finding an attorney who can.

Working with a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner (LPP) can help you accomplish more with less – less time, less money and less stress.

Legal issues can be overwhelming, expensive and confusing. Representing yourself – as many petitioners and respondents do – can leave you feeling like the system is designed against anyone who can’t afford an attorney and possibly even deprive you of the justice you deserve.

Although LPPs are limited to practice only in areas in which they are licensed, LPPs can provide affordable, accessible legal assistance and guidance.

Vanderhooft Legal provides Utah clients with representation and legal advice for matters concerning debt collection, family law, and landlord/tenant issues.
